TalenTour recently helped organize the Genoa Shipping Week event, seven days of cultural events, conferences and meetings devoted to theworld of shipping.
This year Coast Guard (the Body of Port Authority) attended this event as “guest institution” in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Body.(http://www.guardiacostiera.gov.it/stampa/Pages/genoashippingweek2015.aspx).
For this reason on September 15 TalenTour organized a special tour to show Port Authority to the citizens of Genoa.
TalenTour gathered a group of participants very large and heterogeneous, formed by technology professionals, entrepreneurs, university students and citizens eager to learn about the specialized body of the Navy.
Among the visitors an important guest attended the tour: the Consul of Panama, who just took office in our city.
A presentation conducted with passion and competence, where the admiral explained in an exemplary way all the tasks performed by his team, in relation to civil uses of the sea under the functional dependence of various Italian ministries: Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti, Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare, Ministero delle Politiche Agricole Alimentari e Forestali, Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo.
A challenging and, at the same time, delicate mission that has enthralled all the participants of the tour.
Then Comandante Daniele Intelisano and Comandante Giambattista Ponzetto spoke after Admiral Melone.
They presented the monitoring systems used by the Coast Guard in Italy:
- National VTMIS,
- SafeSeaNet System,
- Automatic Identification System,
- Vessel Traffic Service System.
The visit was so successful, that the Port Authority declared its availability to let TalenTour organize new Open Days next year.
