Last week a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce visited Genoa in order to meet Manuela Arata, President of the Science Festival Association and Silver Magnolia of the Shanghai Municipality.
There is a strong relationship between Shanghai and Genoa, created by Manuela herself in the last four years.
Shanghai Municipality knows very well Italian innovation and tech-excellence, such as that of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (ICub robot is very popular in China !).
During the day TalenTour arranged a special visit in Telerobot Labs, an center of excellence working in robotics field.
David Corsini and Fabrizio Tubertini (respectively Founder and Business Strategy Consultant at Telerobot Labs) welcomed the delegation from Shanghai and showed them the main hi-tech devices for rehabilitation available in their labs.
ARAMIS (Automatic Recovery Arm Mobility Integrated System) is a robo-mechatronic system consisting of two exoskeletons, with six active degrees of freedom, designed for the rehabilitation and functional recovery of the upper limbs of patients with severe brain injuries.
The ARAMIS system works by exploiting the mechanism of mirror neurons and has been developed in the research laboratories of the Institute S. Anna in Crotone.
FEX (FingersExtending eXoskeleton) is an exoskeleton glove developed by Telerobot Labs for hand rehabilitation in stroke patients.
David’s team is working hard to enhance it in order to make its aid adaptive to the patients’s muscular and nervous response.
Surgenius is a surgical robot which occupies two main areas: the surgical bed, around which the robotic arms are placed, and the command console, positioned on one side, from which the surgeon operates the robot. Assistants can easily stand around the bed and the surgeon can monitor the surgical room from his/her working position.
After the lab tour Giancarlo Gaimari (co-founder of TalenTour) and Manuela Pignatelli (responsible for corporate relations in AIESEC Genova) presented their own associations and activities.
TalenTour presentation was mainly focused on their mission to identify and to promote Italian innovative companies and startups.
Today this promotion activity is done mainly in our country, but tomorrow it could be done also abroad.
At the end of the day Ms Jiang Jing (Deputy Director, Department for Convention & Exhibition Development) and the rest of the Shanghai delegation thanked the Italian hosts for the magic experience.
We really hope to have made them understand how competent and creative the Italians companies are.
